    Description

Two charming handmade Native American dolls from the 1940s. One of the wood bases on the dolls says "made by Indians Ponca Oklahoma".  I bought them from the original owner whose aunt bought her dolls during her travels in the 1940s. She displayed them at a local fair in 1954 and won a ribbon.
They measure about 8 1/2" tall and are hand made. The lady doll has a broken feather in her head dress. The clothing is a soft light skin and cloth with beadwork. The pattern on her dress is done in paintYarn was used for hair and the decor on her dress.
I welcome information about this neat couple. Please ask questions as I am not knowledgeable about Native American Art Crafts.
