Vintage Italian Greyhound Shoehorn. Condition is "Used". Item is 19 3/4” in length. There are imperfections consistent with item usage. There is a space between greyhound‘s head and wood “body,” I believe, where a sling type handle once was. There is a thin mark down the left side of the wood. It looks like paint. I’m not going to try to strip it off because I don’t want to damage the wood or the finish. There seems to be either a slightly off centered head or slight curvature of the wood, both consistent with item usage.
Note the fine details carved into the stately and proud head of the greyhound. There are no maker’s marks on this item. I went off the research I’ve done from other similar pieces. Although this piece is certainly usable, it will be better preserved as a collection piece.
